Intriduction: Once Osho gave an example. Go into a vacant room and sit on a chair. Start to think that you have headache. Just after some time you will feel headache. How does this happen? This is because your mind takes action according to your thinking. It directs the whole body to react in the similar way when you have headache in actual. Thus, you start to feel headache.
The above example will help you to understand the work pattern of the mind. Our mind is the most powerful armour we have. Once we understand it, we can get anything done by it. We can achieve anything by the help of it.
The discoveries and inventions made in the past are only due to the power of belief. Edison believed and discovered the bulb. There are many more examples too which can prove that before achieving anything we have to believe on it.
I have seen lots of people who want achieve many things. But, they don’t believe that they can achieve those things. They generally blame their fate for not achieving the things they want to have.
Let’s discuss the way by which we can achieve anything-
I. Write the goal you want to achieve- If you want to achieve anything, you must write it on your diary or on the cover page of your mobile so that you may see it many times a day. This is because our mind thinks about the things we are in touch on a regular basis. If we see our goal many times a day, it will continue to think over it which will be a success for us because to think about our goals continuously is the first step towards achieving it.
II. Start to plan for it- Once your mind starts to think about your goal continuously, the next step towards achieving it is to have a plan to achieve it. Make a plan to achieve your goal on a paper not only in mind because the plan which is on paper can be analysed daily and improved.
Daily analysis of the plan is necessary without which we can’t achieve anything in a time frame.Actually, daily analysis not only reminds us our goal but also it motivates us for keep trying. Again, no plan is perfect at first. But, by analyzing it daily we can gradually improve it.
III. Making a plan- Making a plan is also an art. A good plan helps us in achieving our goals in a time frame easily.
Take an example- Suppose you want to study a book which has 150 pages in just one month. Now, it’s clear that you have to read at lesay 5 pages per day. You can now set a daily target to read 6 or 7 pages per day to achieve the goal in the time frame.
Concluding the topic I can say that your journey towards achieving your goals starts with your belief that you can achieve any thing. So, start to believe upon yourself and doors of progress will automatically open for you.
Why should we have a goal?
Suppose you are on a railway station & you don’t know where to go. Which train will you catch?….. Please, answer this question.
The same happens in life. Without a goal we generally pass our whole life casually. A goal makes our life meaningful. It encourages us to keep working. Only those people who have goals in life are generally able to achieve something big.
Maximum people don’t have a goal in life & so their valuable time goes in vain. Are you one of them too? Many of us pass our life purposelessly. We study, earn, get married, produce children, perish them & then die. What a routine life! Nothing special.
Goals activate our inner strength and energy. History is full of examples of great achievers. In India Chankya who is also known as Koutilya a teacher at Takshila set a goal to make Chandragupta the emperor of India and he did it.
All wish to get success in life. But, How many of us are actually able to do so? … Only a few. Actually, the journey to get success starts with setting a goal.If you have a goal in life, you feel your life meaningful. All the successful people had goals without whom they might not be successful. Look at these examples-

All of the above legends had a goal for their selves in life. There are many more legends. Actually, goals motivate us. One who has a goal is positive about future. On the contrary, a person without a goal sees a dark future.
The first step in life towards success is goal setting. How can we set our goals? Goal setting is an art and you can easily have expertise in it. Do you know this art?
Types of goals–
If you start to set goals, you need to make a list of things you want to achieve. You’ll see that you won’t need all the things at the same time. You will find that you will need different things at different time.
On the basis of time period, there are three types of goals-
I.Short Term Goals- Thses goals are of 3 months to 1 year.
II.Medium Term Goals-These goals are of 1 year to 5 years.
III.Long Term Goals-These goals are of more than 5 years.

Soon you will realize that you are on the right track towards a happy and cool life.
Play with children- It’s a magical idea to play with children to free from stress.Children are gifted. They have no permanent worries or sadness. We can learn a lot from them. So, it’s said that ‘a child is the father of a man‘.
If you have children in your family, you must try this tip. Play with them, participate in whatever they do. However it may be full of foolishness. But, just do it.
Be sporty– Do you play any game?…Tennis, Badminton etc…start today. Just play one or two hours per day. You will start to feel better.
Actually, to stay away from worries it is very essential to divert the mind. Whenever we are in stress, our mind is generally addicted to think about the reason causing the stress. Sometimes it becomes non-tolerable and some person take appropriate actions like suicide.
Aristotle once remarked-‘A man is a social animal’. It’s natural to be affected by others while taking any decision. A person who is easily affected by others can’t take a firm step grow himself/herself. In life, we should take any decision regarding our life ourselves without being affected by anybody else. Let me tell-why?
An eye opener story- A man & his son were going to a fair with an ass. Some people saw them in the way and laughed at them because they were going on foot even they had an ass.The father & son thought that the people were right.So, they had a ride on the ass.
Just after travelling a short distance, they met with some people who again commented on them as both of them were heavy for the ass and they were cruel to the ass. Both thought that the people were right again. So, the father got down.
Again, after some time, they met with some more people who commented on the son because he was riding on the ass without caring for his father who was old and weak and had to move on foot.
The son realized his fault and he got down. He made his father ride on the ass. After going a little further, they met some more people who commented on the rudeness of the father because his young son was going on foot.
Finally, the father and the son realized that to follow people is not possible. So, they must do whatever they think is right.
What does this story reveal? If we take a decision due to the influence of others, we’ll have to regret. Actually, the circumstances for each person is completely different from others. So, each and every person reacts to any event on the basis of his/her own situation. Hence, what is right for others is completely wrong for us. To succeed everyone needs a different way. One can’t be successful by copying anybody.
We must keep some points in mind while taking any decision:
I.Listen to all- We must listen to all as it provides us sufficient material to take a proper decision. Sometimes we get such an info through others which is not in our mind. So, please…please…listen to others.
II.Take a decision which is suits you- On the basis of available resources you should take a decision which is suitable to you not for pleasing others. Consider every aspect of the situation to reach at any result. Always remember that you may have to regret if you take a decision due to any pressure.

One of the most valuable things gifted by god to us is ‘time’. Do you agree? We can neither increase a single moment of our life by any means nor we can stop it. Surprisingly, We waste it the most in useless gossips, sleeping more than we need and many other meaningless tasks.
Well, Let me ask you a question: If you offer one year extra life and one trillion dollar to a person about to die, what will he choose?…Of course, he will choose one year extra life because wealth is meaningless for that person. What would he do with money if he is not alive?
We have limited time in our life span. I’ve studied and analyzed many persons who lived for a short time but, they achieved a lot. Sriniwas Ramanujan who was a great Indian mathematician lived only about 33 years from 1887 to 1920. One of the most respectable saint of India Swami Vivekananda left the world in the age of 40.
I have also seen such persons who lived for more than 100 years without having any big achievement. In actual, people who don’t take time seriously and pass it casually are not able to do something great.
I always tell people through my seminars and blog to utilize each and every moment of life to achieve their goals of life. In this post, I am going to share some techniques that will help to utilize your maximum time everyday. Have a look:
I.Plan for the next day– Our maximum time is wasted because we have no plan to use it. Try this tip. Sit for just 15 minutes before going to bed & think about the tasks to be done next day. Note the tasks on a paper or a mobile with their timing as follows:

II.Have a daily routine- A majority of people don’t have a routine due to which leads to the wastage of time. Successful people have a daily routine to utilize their time in the most productive way.
However, it’s very difficult to follow a routine on a daily basis. But, gradually we can be habitual of it. One thing is very important in this regard that a daily routine is a subject to be changed time to time.
III. Analysis of the day everyday- It is also essential to analyse your day. Before going to bed think for while that how much time you have wasted today & why? Note down the reason. I’ve found that this is a very effective way to improve ourselves.
IV.Read inspirational books- Inspirational books always motivate or encourage us to do good things. We must develop the habit of reading these books. You can find lots of books on self improvement, time management or success. Swett Marden has written a lot on self improvement. There are several other writers too.
However, such books are also available online. But, I would suggest you to buy books and read them offline. The impact of offline reading is great.
